M. Jean Rawson, B.S., U. of Mississippi; M.S., Indiana U.; J.D., John Marshall Law School, Chicago. Admitted to practice in Florida and Indiana in all state and federal courts and the U.S. Supreme Court. A former high school teacher, Ms. Rawson was an adjunct professor of School Law at Indiana U., Purdue U., U. of South Florida and John Marshall Law School. She served as an administrative hearing officer for the Ind. Department of Special Education, as the Compliance Specialist for the School District of Collier County, Florida, and attorney for the Special Education Department of Charlotte County Public Schools. Ms. Rawson is the author of two books, A Manual of Special Education Law (Morgen Publishing, Inc., 2000) and Special Education Law, Second Ed.,(Morgen Publishing, Inc., 2003) In 2006 she was selected as one of the “Best Attorneys in America” in education law. She is a frequent speaker on education issues.
Ms. Rawson has a private law practice in Naples, Florida and concentrates her practice in the areas of family law and school law. She was selected as “Woman Attorney of the Year” in 1997, as “Lawyer of the Year” in 2005 and as the “Lion of the Law” by the Judiciary in 2005.
